Firearms

All the boys went to shoot guns. Kevin is very meticulous about safety so you had plenty of discussions before you went and good time of safe-shooting instruction the day you shot.

Starwars

You love Starwars even though you had never seen the movies. Here you are playing chess with a Starwars chess set. You were arguing with each other about whether or not to play "American style" or "Korean style," because they thought you were making up rules.

For your last night we ate waffles for dinner, and watched your first Starwars movie.

MK Nature Center

For Father's Day we had a picnic at the park and went to the MK Nature Center. You were surprised to see the stuffed and mounted animals.

You were very surprised how big a buffalo and a moose are.

You said it was the first time you'd seen a brown bear, and kept asking if they were real.

Star Wars Legos

Here is a picture of your favorite day. The day you stayed home from school to go shopping. You also got a soda, and I made caramel corn.

We used the self checkout.

You started on it as soon as you got home--you didn't even ask to play video games or for a snack!

Sugar

You like grapefruit when you first tried it, but when you saw Naomi putting sugar on it you were even more interested! Here you are asking her why her sugar spoon is bigger than yours.

They told us that Americans eat more sugar than Koreans, but it doesn't seem to be true with our family.

Tang Soo Do

Kevin has been training in the Korean martial art, Tang Soo Do, about 25 years. And I have been training about 20 years. We were very excited to have to join us in our class. Tang Soo Do is part of the Moo Duk Kwan and Soo Bahk Do history. Here is our dojang's website: FamilyTangSooDo.com


I hope you have the opportunity to continue training in martial arts when you return home. You have done very well and learned quickly. You are a good student.

Birds of Prey

We visited the Birds of Prey Museum here. You said that you didn't like birds, but we had a very good time. You even bought a bird toy from the gift shop to remember the visit.

Bike Ride

I didn't know when you and Ethan first went out to play that you didn't know how to ride a bike.

Waffles

You have a sleepy face here and you are probably annoyed that I always want to take your picture when you are eating--but I can't leave out WAFFLES.

I made overnight-yeast waffles and they have become your favorite food. Every morning you simply say "waffles." After school you come in to the kitchen and say "waffles." When you don't like the looks of dinner, you say "waffles?" I think we are going to change your name to waffles. I wonder if you will still like them when we run out of syrup and powder sugar.

S'mores

You are typically skeptical whenever we announce a new food. I didn't have any doubts that you would love these, with your sweet tooth. We had a fire in our backyard and here you are trying s'mores for the first time. You wanted them again for breakfast, yeah right.
